Helping you serve others.

You want to fill a need in your community but dealing with all the legal requirements seems overwhelming. Organizing a bike drive for Christmas or feeding vulnerable families are projects you can tackle, but dealing with the IRS? No thanks.

Here at the Law Office of Emily Cook, we are experienced at helping you lay a foundation that maximizes your mission and contemplates growth. We can help you with required state and federal filings, obtaining tax-exempt status, establishing by-laws and forming a board.

Roads we can help you walk through:

Non-profits

We can help you lay a foundation that maximizes your mission and contemplates growth. It is our passion to help you help others. We can help with required state and federal filings, obtaining tax-exempt status, establishing bylaws and forming a board.

Campaign finance

We can guide you through how to legally raise and spend funds, required political disclaimers on advertising and filing reports in a timely manner. We’ve helped Texas folks stay out of hot water while they’re successfully advocating in their communities.

Patient advocacy

When caring for loved ones in a Texas hospital, many families are surprised to learn that Texas law allows hospitals and physicians to remove life-support from a patient over the objections of their family.  We can help you when disagreements erupt.

General practice

Our general practice areas consist of legal work commonly needed to serve rural communities: Wills, Powers of Attorney; contract negotiations, guardianships, labor and employment and other areas.

We currently do not offer services in Family Law.
